How We Hire

We’re looking to hire people who know what MATTERS - someone who’s good for the role, good for Gray Matter Analytics and good at lots of things.

We believe in using data to help our clients make decisions and we need people who are just as strategic. That means we have to be tactical, both in how we work and how we hire. We look for people who are great at a lot of things, love big challenges and welcome big changes. We need Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) that still believe they can learn a thing or two working in a team environment. We’re looking for people who are good for Gray Matter Analytics — not just for right now, but for the long term. We want to get a feel for what’s important to you in your career, and make certain you’ll thrive in our environment.

This is the core of how we hire. Our process is pretty basic; the path to getting hired usually involves an initial conversation with a recruiter, followed by a phone interview or two, an on-site interview at one of our offices or by Skype.

How We Interview

We want smart, team-oriented people who can get things done. When you interview at Gray Matter Analytics, you’ll likely interview with four or five people. We believe that if we hire great people and involve them in the hiring process, then we’ll attract more great people.

We look for:

We’ll want to know if you have the chops to tackle different situations when managing a virtual or on-site team. This might be by asserting a leadership role at work or with an organization, or by helping a team succeed when you weren’t officially appointed as the leader.

Role-Related Knowledge

We’re looking for people who have a variety of strengths and passions, not narrow skill sets. We’ll be looking to check your knowledge in our verticals, Healthcare and Financial Services, to see if you understand the market and where it’s heading.

How You Think

We’re likely to ask you some role-related questions that provide insight into how you solve problems. Show us how you would tackle a problem and the thought process behind the solution.

How We Decide

We collect feedback from the interview and make a group decision.

To give you a sense of what working here is really like, some of your interviewers could be potential teammates and others might be from extended teams.

This helps us see how you might collaborate and fit in overall.
